You are really not supposed to eat any other foods while you are on this diet, and especially over the first few days that you are on this diet, your body is going to be craving carbohydrates and so you are going to want sugary snacks like cookies and chocolate. You need to fight against these cravings and remember that they will pass over a few days.
It is almost like if you were to quit smoking, because your body will end up going through withdrawals and you are going to need to deal with this and make sure that you are prepared for it before it even happens.
When you are on this diet you are not getting all the foods that your body needs to strive, and so it can actually end up being dangerous to your health. So although being on the egg and grapefruit diet for a few weeks or so should generally be fine and not do you any harm, you really need to pay attention to how long you are on the diet and stop after this amount of time.
